Getting started
A short guide for your first week.
If you just downloaded the app, read this first. It's the stuff I wish someone had told me on Day 1.
If you haven't installed yet
Start here. The app is on Google Play. Android only for now.
Get it on Google PlayYour photos and check-ins sync to my backend so they survive a reinstall. The privacy policy lays out exactly what's stored.
Your first week
- 1
Install the app and make it through onboarding.
Onboarding asks a handful of questions about when you tend to bite, what you've tried before, and what your hands look like right now. Your answers sync to the backend so the app can pick the right starting point for you. The privacy policy has the full list of what's stored. Answer honestly, it changes what you see on Day 1.
- 2
Take your first photo check-in.
Before you start Day 1, take the baseline photo. Hands flat, decent light. This is the "before" image you'll scroll back to in four weeks. Skipping it is the one thing I'd tell you not to skip.
- 3
Do Day 1 the day you install.
Day 1 takes about five minutes. Read the lesson, do the exercise, log the check-in. Don't save it for "tomorrow morning when I have time." Tomorrow-you has the same 24 hours as today-you.
- 4
Keep it small and daily.
The program is built around one thing a day, not one big push. If you only have 90 seconds, do the check-in and skip the lesson. Come back to the lesson later. What matters is that you come back the next day.
- 5
Look back at week 3.
Around week 3 the photo journal starts paying off. Scroll back to your baseline image. Even on days I've slipped, looking at where my nails were a month ago has pulled me back on track. That's the part of the program I can't explain on a landing page.
The questions people ask
- How long does each day take?
- Under five minutes most days. Sometimes less if you skip the lesson and just do the check-in.
- What if I miss a day?
- Nothing resets. The program picks up where you left off. There's no streak to break, because streaks made the setbacks harder for me, not easier.
- Do my photos go to a server?
- Yes. Your photos sync to the backend so your before/after journal isn't lost when you reinstall or switch phones. The privacy policy lays out where they live and who can see them.
- Is it free?
- The first 7 days are free. After that it's $9.99/month, or a one-time $49 for lifetime access. Cancel the monthly plan anytime in Google Play.
- Is there an iOS version?
- Android only right now. An iOS version is in the "maybe later" pile, not the roadmap.
